PP Nonwovens in Construction

Among the largest durable markets for nonwovens, the roofing and construction market is largely dependent on these fabrics for a variety of purposes. Why? Because Nonwovens provide the best weatherization system for keeping a structure dry against the elements while also allowing water vapor to escape. While Wovens and perforated house wraps, and also coated OSB, may be cheaper in some cases, their overall performance is poor in keeping water from penetrating the wall cavity, which ultimately results in mold, mildew and rot caused by water damage. On the other hand, nonwovens also act as excellent fire retardant too, owing to the flexibility of adding glass fiber into their construction. The global nonwoven industry is fast penetrating the construction industry. From house wraps and roofing materials, to geotextiles, the nonwovens present an opportunity to evolve industries beyond the traditional scope, and help reap more profits at better market values.
